Fill & Sign PDF — Add Text and a Signature to Any PDF

Files & ImagesUpdated

Sign a rental agreement, fill in a form, or initial a page — without printing anything. Pick a page and a rough position (top, center, bottom-left, etc.), drop in typed text or a hand-drawn signature, then save. It all runs in your browser, so signed documents never touch a server.

Produces a visual signature/fill, not a certified digital signature with identity verification — check your specific legal requirements before relying on it for binding contracts.

How to use this tool

  1. Drop or choose your PDF.
  2. Pick the page number and a rough position (top-left, center, bottom-right, etc.) using the position grid.
  3. Press Add text to type a value, or Add signature to draw one — it's added to the list at that page and position.
  4. Repeat for as many items as you need, then press Save signed PDF and download the result.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a legally binding e-signature?

It places a visual signature image (or typed text) onto the PDF, similar to printing, signing and rescanning — but it doesn't provide the cryptographic audit trail, identity verification or certificate-based signing that formal e-signature services (DocuSign, Adobe Sign) offer. For casual forms and personal documents it's usually fine; for contracts requiring legal e-signature compliance, use a dedicated e-signature service.

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No — everything happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib. Your document and signature never leave your device.

Why a position grid instead of clicking exactly where I want?

Rendering a PDF page visually to click on turned out to be unreliable across different browsers and devices. The 9-position grid (top/middle/bottom × left/center/right) covers the vast majority of real use — a signature line, a date field, an initial in a corner — reliably on every device.

Can I remove an item after adding it?

Yes — every added item appears in the list below with an × button to remove it before you save.

Can I sign a multi-page document?

Yes — change the page number for each item you add; items are placed on whichever page you had selected when you added them.
