As many as you like — there's no fixed limit. Very large documents use more of your device's memory since merging happens locally, but typical multi-file merges are instant.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Merging runs entirely in your browser using pdf-lib, so confidential documents — contracts, statements, visa files — never leave your device. Many online 'free' mergers upload your files; this one doesn't.
Can I choose the order of the files?
Yes — use the up/down arrows to arrange the files before merging. The numbers show exactly what order the pages will appear in the final PDF.
Why did merging fail?
The most common causes are a password-protected PDF or a corrupted file. Remove any protected PDF (open and re-save it without a password first) and try again.
