Date Duration Calculator — Days Between Two Dates
Visa validity, notice periods, project deadlines, pregnancy weeks, contract terms — life constantly asks “how long between these two dates?”. This tool gives the exact answer in days, weeks and months, including a working days count (excluding weekends).
How to use this tool
- Pick the start and end dates.
- Tick \"include end date\" when both edge days count — e.g. leave applications where the last day is also taken.
- Press Calculate for total days, weeks, working days and the calendar breakdown.
Frequently asked questions
Should I include the end date or not?
Depends on the context. Hotel stays and interest calculations usually exclude the checkout/end day; annual-leave forms and event durations often include both edge days. When a rule matters legally (visas, notice periods), read the exact wording — \"within 60 days of arrival\" typically counts arrival day as day 1.
What are working days and do public holidays count?
This tool counts Monday–Friday as working days and excludes weekends. Public holidays vary by country and year, so subtract those manually — e.g. 44 working days minus 2 holidays = 42 actual working days.
How do weekend definitions differ by country?
Most of the world uses Saturday–Sunday, but several Gulf countries historically used Friday–Saturday (the UAE moved to Sat–Sun in 2022, with Friday afternoon off). If your weekend is Fri–Sat, the Mon–Fri count here will differ by a few days over long spans.
Why does '1 month' vary between 28 and 31 days?
Months are unequal, so date math uses real calendar months: from Jan 31 to Feb 28 is \"1 month\" even though it's 28 days. For contracts, prefer specifying days (\"90 days\") over months to avoid ambiguity.
